A dealer purchased two mobile phones for Rs.2150 each . He sold one mobile phone at Rs.2000. At what price ahould he sell the other mobile phone so that he makes a total profit of  Rs. 400 in the whole transaction?

Remember, Profit = Revenue - Cost

 

The Cost is 2 time 2150 or 4300.  

The Revenue is 2000 + x where x is the sale of the second phone.

 

Therefore,

400 = 2000 + x - 4300

400 = -2300 + x

2700 = x

 

He should sell the second phone for 2700.
