We are looking for a value of x that satisfies both equations.  This would be the point of intersection of the 2 graphs.

You can graph these equations on www.desmos.com .... enter in "y = |x-1|" and "y = |x + 1| + 4.

These 2 graphs never intersect ... therefore there is no solution.
