Hi JJ,
For this type of problem, we use the order of operations. First, we evaluate the operations in parentheses. So, we can first simplify to [10+6*3]/4. Within the [] in the numerator, we can simplify further moving to first perform the multiplication. So, we get [10+18]/4. Now, we can easily solve: 28/4=7.

Yes. Following the order of operations
PEMDAS: Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication/Division, Addition/Subtraction
Work the parenthesis from the inside out..
[10 +(19-13)*3]/4
inside parenthesis: 19-13 = 6
[10 + 6*3]/4
Still working inside the parenthesis or brackets...
multiplication comes before addition so:
6*3 = 18
[10+18]/4
Still working on the parenthesis/brackets
10+18 = 28
28/4
