Natalie is baking cookies to put in pkgs. she made 86 chocolate cookies and 42 sugar cookies. Natalie wants to create identical packages of cookies and has to use them all. What is the greatest number of identical packages she can make?

She must keep a chocolate to sugar ratio of 86/42 in the packages.

 

86/42 = (2 * 43) / (2 * 21) = 43/21

 

Since 43 cannot be factored any further, this allows for 2 packages with 43 chocolate and 21 sugar cookies.
