To find the solution, the first thing that you should do is take a look at the units of the given information.
You were told the area in square feet, as well as the price per square foot. In math, when we say "per" what we mean is "divided by". So "cents per sq ft" really means "cents/sq ft".
Now, think about how you can use those units with simple mathematics to end up with an answer that is just "cents".
We want to multiply those numbers together so that the units cancel. Units cancel just like numbers. When we multiply 46,200 sq ft by 50 cents/ sq ft, the units of sq ft cancel and we are left with just cents.
When we do that, we end up with 2,310,000 cents. If you want the answer in dollars instead, simply divide by 100 to get $23,100.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
