³the diagram Shows a right-angles triangular prism. ∠ACB=90º and AD=50cm and FD=40cm if the volume of the prism is 30000cm³,  calculate the

 

a) area of base EFD

b) length of EF

c) length of ED

ACB is the top of the triangular prism (right-angled triangle) and EFD is the base of the triangular prism. (Also a righ-angled triangle )

It appears that the upper& lower bases are congruent right triangles (30-40-50, satisfying Pythagorean theorem).

 

Base area is ½•30•40 = 600 cm²

 

EF must be 30 or 40 cm (check the actual diagram);  ED must be 50 cm
