-3y + 12 = 6
-3y = 6 - 12
-3y = -6
y - -6/(-3)
y = 2
If this were -3y + 12 > 12
You would need to reverse the direction of the inequality when dividing both sides by a negative.
y < 2
If this were -3y + 12 < 12
y > 2 ... (for same reason above)
