The question is: Which of the following is a characteristic of a modern society?
Of the four choices, I would answer "C. Reliance on technology to communicate", and here is why ...
Cordless phones, voice mail, answering machines, internet, cellphones, ipads, tablets, laptops, email, texting, KIK, Instagram, Facebook, GroupMe, and, Instant Messenger -- just about everyone in the world has used at least one of them to communicate.
I also think "A. Microprocessor technologies" would be a close second, but not the winner because not everything we use to communicate has a microprocessor, such as an app on a cellphone, or an old-fashioned, rotary dial phone (yes, they are still in existence).
And, "D. All of the above" does not ring true.
And finally, "B. Factory jobs" in order to be produced, because many third-world countries that don't have basic necessities have factories, but not for just communication products. And communication does not require a factory, such as an application that you write code for and market to sell. You can actually create an app and market it yourself through Amazon.
Hope this helps.
