Use the slope fprmula to find the slope of the line.
m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)
m = (12 - 2)/(0 - 4) = 10/(-4) = -5/2
Then use the slope-intercept form to find the equation of the line.
y = mx + b
Use one of the above points ... I chose (0,12)
Substitute in x=0, y = 12, m = -5/2
12 = (-5/2)(0) + b
12 = 0 + b
12 = b
Now that we have "b" ... we substitute m and b into the slope intercept form to find our equation.
y = mx + b
The equation of the line is
y = (-5/2)x + 12
