Given the following: H varies directly as x and inversely as y. if x=2 and y=6, then h=5. Find the following the general variation equation proportionality and the constant of the proportionality

Direct: y = kx

Inverse: xy = k

 

H = ax/y

5 = a(2)/6

30 = 2a

15 = a

 

The constant is 15, H = 15x/y
