Describe how Hitler violated the Treaty of Versailles

i just don't get it please help me

Marilyn L.

I think the Treaty of Versailles requires the human treatment of prisoners of war.
Hitler killed millions by merciless gassing, a very inhuman treatment.

I've searched the text of the whole treaty, and while there is an entire part of the Treaty of Versailles (Part VI) titled "Prisoners of War and Graves," this section seems to be entirely concerned with the repatriation of POWs just from World War I, i.e., the war that immediately preceded the treaty.

You may be thinking of the various Geneva Conventions, three of which were formulated before World War II. And while many Allied POWs (especially Russians and Poles) were caught up in the mechanisms of the Holocaust and extra-legally killed while in German custody, I don't believe that the International Military Tribunal ever adjudged the near-extermination of the Jewish population of Europe during the period as a "war crime" in violation of the Geneva accords, but certainly as a crime against humanity.
