The area of a circle is 0.785. What is the radius pi is 3.14

I have two answers but I don't know which one is correct. I have 0.25 and 0.50. Please help.

Answer is 0.5.  

 

From r² = 0.25 ----------- apply square root to both sides 

 

r = 0.5

Nice job getting the answers you did.  Should be .50 though.

 

A = pi*r²

.785 = 3.14*r²     divide both sides by 3.14

.25 = r²               square root both sides (remember we want r, not r²)

.5 = r

 

 

 

Answer 3

Area = pi*radius²

 

0.785 = (3.14)*radius²

 

0.785/3.14 = radius²

 

Take the square root of both sides to get the answer.
