This can be solved by using an equation. First, ask yourself what you are looking for. It seems to me that you are looking for the original price of the television.
This can be represented by (Original Price) - 20% = Total Spent. You know the total spent and the discount percentage, therefore you can represent the "original price" section with "x". You will then convert your percent to its decimal form.
Now your equation is x - 0.20x = 320. Do not forget the variable after your 0.20 because the 0.20 or 20% applies to the original price - in this case, "x".
You can now subtract like terms and you will get 0.80x = 320.
To solve for x, you then divide each side by 0.80 thus giving you x = 400.
You can check your answer and take 400 * 0.20 which gives you 80. You would then subtract 80 from 400, leaving you with 320.
