Perimeter of a triangle

The perimeter of a triangle is 96 m. One side is twice as long as another, the third side is 30m long. How long is each side of the triangle?

We know the perimeter is 96m.

 

P = 96 = sum of the 3 sides.

x = one side

2x = 2nd side

30 = 3rd side.

 

So,

x + 2x + 30 = 96

3x + 30 = 96

3x = 66

x = 22

 

 

First side is 22m

2nd side, which is twice as long as the first side is 44m

3rd side is 30 m
