Miranda baked 48 muffins to sell at her school.She sold 2/3 of the muffins and gave the rest to her friends. How many muffins did she sell?

I dont understand it at all... My first try I got 32 because I multiplied 48/1 and 2/3 and got 32? Im not sure if that's right or not.

That would be correct since 2/3 of 48 is 32. 

48/1 * 2/3 is 96/3 which is equal to 32.

 

This would mean that she sold 32 muffins, while she gave 16 to her friends.
