How would i find the average rate of change in open interval (4,7) in decimal?

Can someone help me please i'm stuck.

Evaluate f(x) when x=4 , x=5, and x=6.  As x increases, do the f(x) values increase of decrease?  Use this concept and function you just provided to determine that.
