The ratio men to women in a class is 3 to 2, means that
the number of men in class / the number of women in class = 3/2
so we are given the number of men to be 3,600 and we need to find the number of women in class
back to our ratio equation
3, 600 / the number of women in class = 3/2
to solve for the number of women in class, cross multiply both sides of the equation
2 * 3600 = 3 * number of women in class, now divide both sides of the equation to find the number of women in class
( 2 * 3600)/3 = the number of women in class
The answer is 2,400 women students
