Hi Johanna,

 

7 out of 9 were good all year thats almost all of them only 2 out of 9 were bad. So if you had 189 children instead of 9 you would expect the same fraction to be good so x out of 189 will equal 7 out of 9 or x/189 =7/9 solving for x (multiply both sides by 189) gives x=189*7/9=147.
