Like many of the other teachers responding to questions, i will first say: Google it!
Most historians state that women advanced socially in poltics, in teh workplace, in their roles in the home, and in education. Of course there was still a long way to go at the end of the 1920's so we can;t say everything suddently got better! the point is that the 1920's did see some significant new developments and many firsts for women.
First politics: look up the Nineteenth Amendment.
In education in many places more and more women began to attend post secondary schools. there was still a lot of opposition to women going to school with the guys, but the fact that some men felt the need to protest does indicate that times were beginnig ot change.
The advances of technology began to change the role of women in the home. Electricity and electric applicance, indoor plumbing, and refrigeration are examples of innovations that began to make the job of housewife easier. mostly in urban areas. Again we do not want to overstate the point since even in the 40's and 50's it is surprising to see how many American households lacked things like running water. But anything that eased the burden of keeping house could iopen doors for women to consider things like jobs outsode the home. For example we see in the 1920's many industries beginning to hire paid female workers. of course it took a long time for women workers to be treated fairly and you can argue they still aren't, but again we see a beginning of change.
It is often fun to look at advertising fron the 20's to see women portrayed more in new roles, including working, driving, going to college etc. Advertising begins to emphasize labir savingd evices for the home and the idea that women should enjoy free time. It is a beginning of social change.
