Warren G. Harding was the first President elected after Women got the vote and he was elected by a 61% of the popular vote.Harding fulfilled his campaign promise as the 29th United States President, to return the country to the economic state it was in before WWI ,but he was more the figurehead rather than the executor of this progressive movement. His presidential accomplishments include setting up the first child welfare program and intervening between striking railroad workers and the establishment owners of the 1921 Blair Mountain strike and the Great Railroad war of 1922 to resolve condition issues and get the railroads moving in normal operation across the country. He also was one of the first presidents to speak out against public lynchings of African Americans and he ordered the desegrigation of the White House and the District of Columbia. One of Hardings most glaring downfalls was putting influential friends in to political positions in his administration  who were not at all suited for the job descriptions that were expected of them. The Tea Pot Dome Scandel was a prime example of this when Harding's Secretary of the Interior,Albert Fall, secretly sold the oil rights to reserves in Wyoming in return for money and cattle. He was sent to jail for this crime against the Government.Harding was a strong opponent of the league of Nations that was part of the Treaty of Paris which eventually ended  WWI. Because of this opposition, the treaty was not ratified to end the war so a joint resolution had to be past to end the war.The Five powers treaty that halted the production of battleships,The Four Powers treaty that was focused on the Pacific Poessions and Imperialism, and the Nine Powers Treaty which focused on recognizing the Chinese Government and their powers and respecting their soverignty were all radified during Harding's administration. Harding was a womanizer who had many affairs and an influential gladhander who liked to surround himself with friends even those who could not do anything, but drink whiskey ,dine in state at the many parties held at the White house ,and eye-free thinking women.

"10 things to know about Warren G. Harding:interesting and important facts about warren G.Harding" by Martin Kelly, updated May 31,2015, in About Education Magazine on-line
It was thge election of 1920. Harding was promising a return to the way things were before WWI.

Here is what he said about it:

"America's present need is not heroics, but healing; not nostrums, but normalcy; not revolution, but restoration; not agitation, but adjustment; not surgery, but serenity; not the dramatic, but the dispassionate; not experiment, but equipoise; not submergence in internationality, but sustainment in triumphant nationality".

Part of this also had to do with undoing some of Wilson's progressive reforms.  The idea was to avoid foreign entanglements and wars, and to take a laissez faire approach to business and tghe economy.

The strategy was successful and Harding won in a landlside.
