Two variables require two equations to solve:

 

Let X = number of wallet-sized

Let Y = number of 8X10

 

Customer 1--> 2Y + 4X = 52

Customer 2--> 3Y + 2X = 50

 

Multiply the second equation by 2--> 6Y + 4X = 100 and subtract the first equation

                                                   - (2Y + 4X = 52)

                                                 --------------------------

                                                    4Y = 48

Divide both sides by 4--> Y = 12

 

then X = 7

 

Plug those values into the question to confirm that they work.
