The Standard Form of the equation of a line looks like: Ax + By = C.
If you start with an equation of a line in slope-intercept form ( y = mx + b), you perform math operations to get the x and y terms on the left side of the equation and the constant on the right side:
y = mx + b
-mx + y = b [subtract mx from both sides)
mx -y = -b [multiply by -1 because, by convention, we like the x-coefficient to be positive]
If the given equation is not in slope-intercept form, just do the math operations that collect the x-terms and collect the y-terms on the left side and collect the constant terms on the right side and make the coefficient of x positive.
