anyone know a good animation software for windows 10 for free?

I haven't been able to get any answers from any animators I try contacting with so I'm trying this site. I plan to be an animator and I need to teach myself cause our school doesn't have a teacher for that. I've been doing pretty good in sketching so I want to make them move. Thanks!

Blender is a very good choice for a free 3d animation package that has 2d animation capabilities. If you haven't learned Maya previously, its actually easier to learn due to its different interface and workflows.

I would use Blender, it can do 3d and 2d animation. It's free and fantastic.

OpenToonz is a great feature rich and free option, although it may be overkill for someone just starting out. It has a setup similar to the industry standard ToonBoom Harmony.

Pencil2D is a much simpler free animation program. Best for short animations and students. Might be too simplistic for more experienced animators.

Blender is an amazing free program that handles both 3D and 2D, but again the feature density and learning curve to get started can be a turn-off for anyone just getting started.

If you’re drawing on paper rather than digitally, MonkeyJam and a webcam is a great pencil testing setup. Although it seems development for the program has ceased, so compatibility may be limited.

Hi, yes I can recommend a few. For 2D free, Krita or Open Toonz (which is hard) Krita is better for Clip Studio Paint feel, Blender is really good and has been growing as a general 3D animation software with good render engine (I use it now) For cut out animation that is tough but I still recommend Blender or  Syngif Studio. I also recommend getting TV Paint or Toon Boom Harmony 21 Demo. To learn because most 2D animation in TV uses it. 3D , Maya 3D Max or Blender, soon UE5 and Unity to replace the latter :)
