I need help on a couple for tomorrow write 0.02 as a percent 30.5% as a decimal 650% as a decimal and 1/20 as a percent

Just keep in mind that 1% is the same as .01 or 1/100.  To convert a percent to a decimal value, just move the decimal place two positions to the left which is the same as dividing by 100.  So, 125% would be 1.25 decimal.  To convert a fraction to a percent, divide the fraction - 1/5 = .20 and then move the decimal point to the right two positions giving 20%.

A percent is a number out of 100.  If we have a number that is out of 100, we just divide the number by 100, or move the decimal point 2 places to the left to convert to a decimal.

 

 

0.02 = 2 / 100

 

0.02 = 2%

 

 

30.5% = 30.5 / 100

 

30.5% = 0.305

 

 

650% = 650 / 100

 

650% = 6.5

 

 

1 / 20 = 5 / 100

 

1 / 20 = 5%
