A Sales Exec traveled a certain number of kilometers by airplane and then traveled one tenth as far by car. Her total trip was more than 3000 kilometers. How far did she travel by airplane?

Let the distance travelled by airplane = x

 

The total distance travelled = x + ( x/ 10)

 

3000 = x + (x/10)

 

 

10x + x = 30000

 

 

11x = 30000

 

x = 30000 / 11

 

=  2727.27 km
