If you interpret the question as:

 

7 = ((5/6)*C) - 8

 

Add 8 to both sides.

 

15 = (5/6) * C

 

Multiply both sides by 6/5.

 

(6/5) * 15 = C

 

C = 18

Am I to interpret this as [(7+5)/6c] - 8? 

7 +(5/6c) - 8?
