Yes, C is correct. The oral tradition is the oldest form of saving historical information (any type). The story or information is passed on from generation to generation; or from one legitimate  source, such as chief, to the next successor and other peoples.  The oral tradition is not limited to storytelling it is a valuable source of information relating to traditions, events, and technology (such as why people made pots from certain clays) for Anthropologists, Sociologists, and Historians. This tradition is alive and well in many parts of the world today, even here in the United States, such as among the Gullah of South Carolina or Native American groups.
