In an algebraic expression like axy, where "a" is a coefficient, "x" is a base (or variable in this particular case), and "y" is an index. Addition (subtraction) of the expressions is done by adding (subtracting) only the coefficients and other parts remains intact if the bases and indices are equal. So, in this problem we will subtract 7 from 14 and will be 7n. And other follows as the previous friends have suggested.
FYI, if you multiply (divide) your expressions you will add (subtract) the indices and multiply (divide) coefficients if the bases are same. Also please note that there is always coefficient 1 and index 1 if we just see x as an expression.
