need help with this...... ¾ X + 14 = 8

yes that is 3/4........hard to type it out........

 

My daughter has multiple questions like this and I don't know how to explain this to her so we can work on the rest.....help!!!!

(3/4)x + 14 = 8           subtract 14 from both sides

(3/4)x = -6                  multiply both sides by 4

3x = -24                      divide both sides by 3

x = -8
