Proportion help!

Question

One out of five people who buy ice cream buys vanilla ice cream. If a store sells 125 ice cream cones in one day, about how many will be vanilla?

Answer 1

P, proportions are basically like fractions. Two equal proportions are like two equal fractions. 1/2 = 2/4, right?

 

So, if v = the number of vanilla cones, what would v equal if 1/5 = v/125?
