Explain bourgeoisie and proletariat as they relate to labor.

Well, the bourgeoisie were the capitalists in France. They owned and operated the businesses, controlling production and manufacturing, thus making them rather wealthy. The proletariat were the workers; they did much of the labor, however were often extremely poor and mistreated by their employers (the bourgeoisie).
