What is the area of the garage

amy has to figure out the area of her square garage. She knows that one side of the garage is equal to the length of her rabbit pen. The dimensions of the rectangular rabbit pen is 14 by 10. What is the area of the garage ?

The length and width of a rectangle are interchangeable, however we usually use the longer side for the length.

If that's the case, then the square is 14x14 or A=14*14=196 square units.

On the other hand, the square could also be 10x10 or A=10*10=100 square units. You choose ! In reality, the length and width, like I said, are interchangeable.
