ok this is easier than it looks, I promise :)
When converting a fration from improper to proper form, remember that the whole number is how many times you can put 8 into 56. You can accomplish this by guessing or long division. whichever is easier.
So lets go with the guessing method. Its like the Price is Right, you want to get as close as possible without going over.
8*5 = 40, kinda low
8*8 = 64 ooops too high
8*7 = 56 Oh hey! cant get much closer than exact!
so 8 goes into 56 7 times, and since there are no left overs, your answer is 7!! Tada!
