In triangle XYZ measure angle Y=170, Since angle XWZ =900 triangle XYW is a right angle triangle and cosine y will be equal to WY/XY. Therefore WY= XY(Cos 17). XY=1.7, and Cos 17= 0.956304756. Therefore XY=1.6257180851. The answer to the nearest 10th will be 1.6.
