In a yacht race the second leg is three times as long as the first leg and the third leg is twice as long as the second. If the total length of the course is 70km, how long is each leg?

second leg=3x

third leg=2(3x)

x+3x+2(3x)=70

x+3x+6x=70

10x=70

x=7 km (first leg)

3x=21 km (second leg)

6x=42 km (third leg)
