The first coordinate, -3, is on the x-axis. The second coordinate, 3, is on the y-axis. You can draw the x-axis horizontally and the y-axis vertically. Where the x and y axis cross is called the origin, or (0, 0). The x-axis will be positive to the right of the origin and negative to the left of the origin. The y-axis will be positive above the origin and negative below the origin.
With the first coordinate, -3, you will need to move to the left of the origin. Stay on the x-axis, and move three units to the left. This will put you at -3. In order to plot your final point of (-3, 3), you will need to have your y-axis read at 3. From the -3 on the x-axis, move up three units on the y-axis. You will have arrived at the point (-3, 3).
