Solving equations always try to keep variables to the left of the equal sign and constants to the right side of the equation.
n + 70 = 265 subtract 70 to both sides of the equation
-70 -70
n = 195 Solution to n is given.
Hope it helps!! :)

n + 70 = 264
-70 + n + 70 = 265 -70
-70+70 + n= 264 -70
n=265-70
n=194

when you are trying to solve for any one specific variable, you want to isolate that variable from everything else....that is, you want to get that variable to be by itself on either side of the equation ( n= , OR, =n)
for n + 70 = 264, since n is positive you would want to leave it on the left side and move everything else to the right side:
n + 70 = 264 subtract 70 from both sides of the equation
- 70 -70
___________________
n + 70 - 70 = 264 - 70 ===> n + 0 = 194 ===> n = 194

Try to always keep as much as possible your variables always to the left of the sign equations and constants to the right side.
n + 70 = 264 To solve for n subtract 70 to both sides
-70 -70 70 is cancelled in the left side of the equation.
n = 194 Solution
