The grammar rule that haunts me is to over use commas in attempt to express clear, concise, and brief, thought. Like too much salt or pepper, the excessive use of commas is the opposite effect. In reading Ernest Hemingway's principle is less is better for his "pal" or friend of writing---Do not state the obvious. Lose the excess tail/tale.
