past simple "you went" or present perfect "you have gone" with the expression "this summer"?

Good morning.

Can you tell me why did we use the verb go conjugated in the past simple "you went" in the sentence below. Isn't it correct to use the verb go conjugated in the present perfect "you have gone" because there is the expression "this summer"?

Here is the sentence:

-I hear you went on holiday to Spain this summer.
