asked 02/07/24What is the equation if slope is -2, y intercept is 1
It's a multiple choice question, either y=2x-1 or y=1/2-1

Neither choice is correct. The correct slope-intercept form for this problem is y = -2x + 1
Hi James G
In the equations you have listed are there a typos of some kind? If you line your equations up against the Slope Intercept Form of a line y = mx +b where m is the slope and b is the y intercept, none answer the question
y = mx + b
y = 2x - 1
In the equation above, m = 2 and b = -1
For the next one
y = mx + b
y = 1/2 - 1
The x is missing.
Did you mean y = -2x + 1 or y = 1/2x + 1?
