How do I write a review for a tutor that I had previously?

There are a couple of ways to write a review for your tutor. The content of your review will deviate depending upon whether or not you were satisfied with the service provided by your tutor.

If the tutor did a good job overall, tell them how they helped you with your issue. In this case, be sure to include specific examples of how the tutor's instructions helped you. If there are any criticisms of the tutor, keep them brief and do not let them overshadow the praise for what they did well. If you belabor criticisms, it is more likely that the tutor will overcorrect these criticisms and be less effective in other ways the next time they provide their services.

If the tutor did a bad job overall, you have the choice to review them in a constructive or destructive way. The destructive way is to use words such as "horrible," "awful," "the worst," etc. Then, you will either destroy their will to tutor at all or cause them to ignore your statements because they come across as unreasonable. The constructive way is means firmly and honestly telling them a few of the areas in which you were dissatisfied with their performance. From there, it is not required but is helpful to note any positive aspects of their bad performance or suggestions for how you feel their performance could be improved.

Either way, be honest with your review. Reviews are not strictly an organized medium of writing unless you are writing for a newspaper, website, or blog. Your objectives are to state your overall opinion on the service and provide details for how helpful or unhelpful the tutor was.
