Simplifying Trig Expression

Simplify csc^2x-1/cot^2x

csc2x = cot2x + 1,  from the Pythagorean identities.
 
Therefore, csc2x - 1 = cot2x.
 
Substitute:  (csc2x - 1)/cot2x = cot2x/cot2x = 1
