Is a multiple regression with 2-5 predictors an experimental study or a correlational study?

The predictors and type of regression have very little to do with correlational vs experimental, it really just has to do with the content/aim of the study. If you are testing a treatment of your own (or novel design) in a random assignment design, then it is an experimental study, pretty much everything else is quasi-experimental or correlational.
