Yes it is.
length= golden ratio* short side= 1.618*1= 1.618 feet
Shong S.
asked 08/21/23Jefferd wants to send his picture to Jessy. He wants the picture frame to be a golden rectangle so that he will look good in it. If Jefferd wants the width of the frame to be 1-foot long, what should be length of the frame? Use 1.618 as the value of the Golden Rectangle.
is 1(1.618) correct solution?

Yes, if Length is considered the Longer side, Longer than the width
L= 1.618 feet =about 1 foot 7.42 inches
but if width were the longer side
then the solution would be
1/1.618 = .618 feet = 7.42 inches
1.618x.618 = .9999 = about 1
in either case the ratio of the sides = the golden ratio
L/w = 1.618/1 = 1.618
and
w/L = 1/.618 = 1.618
all the problem says is w=1 foot
which is consistent with either answer, L=1.618 or L=0.618
but many people treat Length as the Longer side so go with your answer: 1.618 feet
