Spanish II Help! Answering some questions. 4.1

Hi, I need help answering these questions below! Some of the questions need to be answered in Spanish; I have typed out guidelines to the responses under each question.

1. What are superlative adjectives? What are the 2 ways to form them in Spanish? This can be explained in English.
2. Use superlative adjectives to make comparisons. You can talk about your family, or you can talk about celebrities, friends, classes, sports, whatever you would like (in Spanish).
3. I like to shower at night, while my brother prefers to shower in the morning.
4. What is the imperfect tense and when is it used in Spanish? This can be explained in English.
5. Habla sobre tu niñez usando el imperfecto. (2 sentences)
6. I had a simple childhood. I played with my siblings.
7. Qué libro o programa de television era tu favorito cuando eras una niña? Por qué?
8. I liked reading Greek mythology because of the adventure and watch baking shows because I learned to make new things.

CUANDOO HACEMOS COMPARACIONES USAMOS LOS ADJETIVOS :

Estos Adjetivos pueden ser POSITIVOS, COMPARATIVOS Y SUPERLATIVOS

POSITIVOS, cuando no comparamos, simplemente usamos el adjetivo para calificar una persona u objeto.

Ej. Mi casa es bonita. Tambien puedo decir mi casa es muy bonita, para darle mas enfasis al adjetivo, o tambien mi casa no es tan bonita, Solo estoy dandole diferentes matices al adjetivo, para calificar MI CASA. No la estoy comparando con ninguna otra casa, ni con ningun grupo de casas.

Cuando utilizo el adjetivo para comparar un objeto o persona, con otro objeto o persona, utilizamos tres formas

MAS ------QUE (comparativo de superioridad)

TAN -------COMO (comparativo de igualdad)

MENOS---- QUE (comparativo de inferioridad)

Ej: Mi casa es MAS bonita QUE la tuya

Mi casa es TAN bonita COMO la tuya

Mi casa es MENOS bonita QUE la tuya

SUPERLATIVO es cuando utilizamos el adjetivo para comparar una cosa o persona con un grupo de cosas o personas, o vaarias cosas o personas con otro grupo de cosas o personas:

EL MAS + adjetivo

LA MAS + adjetivo

LOS MAS + adjetivo

LAS MAS + adjetivo

Ej: Mi casa es LA MAS bonita (de todas)

Atencion: cuando utilizamos el adjetivo BUENO o MALO solo lo uso en la forma positiva del adjetivo.y en el comparativo de igualdad.

Ej : Maria es BUENA en Matematicas

Pablo es MALO en Matematicas

Maria es TAN buena COMO Pablo en Matematicas

Para el comparativo y superlativo utilizamos MEJOR (para bueno) y PEOR (para malo)

ej: Maria es MEJOR QUE Pablo en Matematicas

Pablo es PEOR QUE Maria en Matematicas

Maria es LA MEJOR en Matematicas

Pablo es EL PEOR en Matematicas

1 - Superlatives are adjectives that describe something to the highest degree.

For example, in English:

He's the best!

In Spanish, there are relative and absolute superlatives.

Relative superlatives are created through el / la + más + adjetivo.

Por ejemplo:

Esteban es el más listo.

Esteban es el estudiante más listo de la clase.

Absolute superlatives, on the other hand, aren't in reference to other things, and are made through adding ísimo / ísima at the end of adjectives.

Por ejemplo:

Esteban es listísimo.

Keep in mind, there are of course exceptions! Instead of el más bueno, instead you would say el mejor. Instead of saying jovenísimo, you would say jovencísimo. These are just a couple, but there are plenty more.

3 - The imperfect tense is one of Spanish's past tenses. It has a variety of uses (in the indicative), including actions with no definite beginning or end, ongoing actions, recurring actions, etc. to name a few.

As a general rule, -ar verbs replace the ending with -aba and -er / -ir verbs replace the ending with -ía.

Yo jugaba, tú jugabas, ella jugaba, nosotros jugábamos, vosotros jugabais, ellos jugaban.
