How can I improve my listening and speaking skills in Spanish?
Many of children songs in English are also translated in Spanish, you can listen and sing along to improve listening and speaking skills. Children audio books are also great! Start with books that you are already familiar with, then you can move to new material as you gain confidence and learn new vocabulary.

Watching movies like Coco, or Encanto, are an excellent way to learn not just the language, but also the culture of Latin American countries. Watch them in Spanish with subtitles. if your child is older than 12 years, He/she may also listen to short stories in Spanish on the Audible app.

Subtitles will be your best friend here. Children's songs and shows are great to get a hold of the basics. If there are songs, shows, or movies that you are very familiar with, I'd recommend changing up the language to Spanish and then adding Spanish subtitles. Having great knowledge of the words in English while getting the rhythm of hearing the Spanish translation followed by reading the subtitles or lyrics would hit memorization AND understanding of verbal and written Spanish.

I agree with Matias M. Also, if you go to YouTube and find songs and programs in Spanish, you can slow down the speed. When You tap on the video, in the upper right hand corner, you should see the asterix looking settings symbol, if you tap on that, scroll down, and you'll see how to slow down the speed. Then set it as slow as you need it.05/01/23
