Tejas, it appears that your biggest problem is making your subject and verb agree. 1. My exam commences on 15 December. Exam (noun) commences (verb). This statement sounds fine, especially in conversational text. 2. My exam is commencing from 15 December. Exam (noun) is commencing (future tense verb). Why put the preposition "from" in the sentence at all? Why not use "will" instead of "is"? "Will" is a future tense verb while "is" represents a present tense verb. 3. You have used correct subject/verb agreement and the statement alludes to the fact that your exam WILL begin on 15 December. I agree with Jennifer on your second statement.
