On a number line, divide up the space between zero and one into nine equal parts and number each line beginning at zero like this:
Notice that we chose 9 equal parts because we want to show 8/9 and 8/9 is a type of "ninth". So, each of the numbers on our drawing are types of ninths, so note that on your drawing by putting a nine under each number like this:
Copy the fractions below the line except simplify them (reduce them) if you can. Then draw an arrow from zero to 8/9 like this:
