To solve this problem, we must understand the "Triangle Inequality Theorem" or that "the sum of the lengths of any 2 sides of a triangle must be greater than the length of the third side.
So looking at the problem, all the sides add up to 2.99.
The only integers less than 2.99, are "1" and "2"
With '1' as the longer side, the other 2 sides must sum to (2.99-1) or 1.99. "1.99" is greater than 1, hence its true for the Triangle Inequality theorem.
With '2' as the longer side, the other 2 sides must sum to (2.99-2) or .99. ".99" is less than 2, meaning that the Triangle Inequality theorem is false, meaning that this triangle does not exist.
The answer is "1"

Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
Perimeter = 2.99
longer side = an integer
one side 1, other two sides 1.99/2 each
sides: 1, .995, .995
or 1, 1, and .99
either is an isosceles triangle
and almost an equilateral triangle
