If this is supposed to say "9 more than the quotient of a number and 5 is 2" then:
Let "b" be the unknown number. That makes the quotient of the number and 5 is "b/5" and nine more than this is "b/5 + 9" and if this is 2 then:
b/5 + 9 = 2
To solve, subtract 9 from both sides, then multiply both sides by 5
